We have been collecting coins for the Michiana Mennonite Relief Sale! Coins this year are going to help with clean water projects in other countries.
Church Retreat 2024
We had a lovely church retreat at Amigo Centre! It was a wonderful time for deepening relationships! We hiked, explored the nature center, played games, completed puzzles, the kids spent hours on the playground, we ate good food, and had good conversation.
Mennonites Across the US and CA host sit-ins, peace services in congressional and parliament offices
Mennonites staged over 40 peace service protests at the offices of elected officials in the US AND CANADA while calling for US action to prevent genocide in Gaza. Here in Kalamazoo, along with members from Brethren, Quaker, and Kalamazoo Nonviolent Opponents of War groups (about 30 persons in total) we targeted Representative Bill Huizenga. Outside Huizenga’s Portage office, we held signs, sang Mennonite Hymns, and shared our personal stories of deep grief and mourning for the Palestinians and Israelis killed in this war. We demanded and will continue to demand our elected officials call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
